3-(4-Methylphenyl)-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-2-propen-1-one (Gadolinium) is a synthetic compound that has been studied extensively in the field of medicinal chemistry. Gadolinium has shown minimal toxicity in animal studies and is not classified as a carcinogen. Gadolinium has also been found to have inhibitory properties against natural compounds, such as reactive oxygen species, and biological properties that may be due to its ability to form a dinucleotide phosphate. This drug is mainly used as an MRI contrast agent because it has good imaging properties and minimal toxicity.
