Descripción:
The compound is an optical monomer. It can be copolymerized with other compounds to form polymers that have a range of optical properties. The polymerization process gives the polymer chains a yellow color, which can be removed by adding solvents such as benzene or dioxane. The compound is soluble in organic solvents and has a transition temperature of -64°C. This compound is also used in the production of polyisobutene, which has many uses, including use in coatings for paper and textiles.
