2,3,3',4',6-Pentachlorobiphenyl (PCB-126) is an inhibitor of tumor growth and cancer cell proliferation. It has been shown to induce apoptosis in Chinese hamster ovary cells and inhibit protein kinase C activity. PCB-126 is an analog of caffeine and has been found in human urine samples. This compound also exhibits anticancer properties by inhibiting the growth of tumors through suppression of angiogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels that supply nutrients to cancer cells.
