Descripción:6-Methyloctan-1-ol is a fatty acid ester that is used in the production of flavours. This product has been shown to have anti-tumour activity, with a specific inhibitory effect on solid tumours and an ability to inhibit the growth of murine sarcoma virus. 6-Methyloctan-1-ol also has an insulin resistance inhibiting effect and can be used as a potential anti-diabetic drug. It is an organic compound with a molecular weight of 150.06 g/mol and chemical formula C4H10O2. The molecular structure consists of a long chain hydrocarbon backbone with two methyl branches on either end. A mass spectrometer analysis revealed that this molecule contains functional groups such as ethyl esters, hydrogen bond, and ethyl decanoate. These functional groups are responsible for its interactions with other molecules in the body.
