5-Chloro-2-pyridinecarboxylic acid methyl ester is a monophosphate nucleoside that can be used in the synthesis of DNA and RNA. It is also an antiviral, anticancer, and anticoagulant agent. 5-Chloro-2-pyridinecarboxylic acid methyl ester has been shown to inhibit DNA replication and transcription by inhibiting the activity of enzymes involved in these processes.
