1-[(2-Hydroxybenzoyl)amino]-3-methyl-thiourea is a molecule that is synthesized by the reaction of 2-hydroxybenzoyl chloride and thiosemicarbazide. It has been shown to have analgesic properties in mice. 1-[(2-Hydroxybenzoyl)amino]-3-methyl-thiourea has intermolecular hydrogen bonding and conformational flexibility, allowing it to act as an analgesic. This molecule also has a number of biological activities, including acting as a bactericide against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
