Información del producto
- Benzothiazole, 2-Methoxy-
- 2-Methoxy-1,3-benzothiazole
2-Methoxybenzothiazole is a synthetic compound that inhibits HDAC activity. It has been shown to inhibit the production of nicotinic acetylcholine and to prevent the formation of nitroso compounds. 2-Methoxybenzothiazole is used in the diagnostic process for identifying sodium carbonate in urine samples. This compound reacts with hydrochloric acid in urine to produce a characteristic fluorescence that can be detected by ultraviolet (UV) light. 2-Methoxybenzothiazole has also been shown to inhibit receptor activity and has been used as a probe for proteins in vitro.
2-Methoxybenzothiazole is synthesized by reacting sodium carbonate with an amino sulfonyl chloride, followed by reaction with hydrochloric acid, which produces the desired product and hydrogen chloride gas as a byproduct. The reaction is conducted at room temperature in the dark.
