Información del producto
- phosphonic acid, P-[(3-methylphenyl)methyl]-, diethyl ester
Diethyl (3-methylbenzyl)phosphonate is a monohalogenating reagent. It can be used to chlorinate, brominate or iodinate unsaturated organic compounds. Diethyl (3-methylbenzyl)phosphonate is a powerful electrophilic agent and may react with the nucleophilic groups of proteins, such as thiols, hydroxides and amines. This reaction results in the formation of diethyl (3-methylbenzyl)phosphonite, which can be alkylated by electrophiles. Diethyl (3-methylbenzyl)phosphonate is also able to form strong bonds with metal ions and other electrophiles as well as react with epoxides to produce epoxyalkenes.
