Afatinib-d6 is a drug that belongs to the group of epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors. Afatinib-d6 binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor with high affinity and inhibits the binding of epidermal growth factor to this receptor, thereby inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells. It has been shown that afatinib-d6 can reduce tumor size in mice by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting angiogenesis. Afatinib-d6 also induces cell death in cells that are resistant to lorlatinib, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis and induce apoptosis.
