2',3'-Di-O-acetyl-5'-deoxy-5-nitro-N4-(pentyloxycarbonyl)cytidine (2',3'-DACNPC) is a modified nucleoside that is a building block for DNA and RNA synthesis. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells in vitro. 2',3'-DACNPC has also been demonstrated as an antiviral agent against influenza virus and herpes simplex virus type 1. The phosphate group of 2',3'-DACNPC can be replaced with phosphoramidites, which are used to synthesize oligonucleotides for use in various research applications. This synthetic compound can be purified to high purity using silica gel column chromatography or recrystallization from methanol.
