• Descripción: 2',3'-Dideoxyinosine-5'-triphosphate triethylammonium salt (ddI-TP) is a nucleoside analog that inhibits HIV replication by competing with natural nucleosides for binding to HIV reverse transcriptase. ddI-TP acts as an inhibitor of human mitochondrial DNA polymerase γ, and blocks the synthesis of fatty acids in mouse cells. It is also able to inhibit signal pathways involving protein kinases and phosphatases. ddI-TP has been shown to be effective against hiv infection in mice. This drug can be used in the treatment of hiv infection, as well as in the prevention of its transmission from mother to child during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
