Descripción:2'-Deoxy-5-trifluoromethyluridine-5'-monophosphate is a prodrug that has been shown to inhibit the growth of endothelial cells. It has also been shown to be effective against cancer cells, specifically those that are resistant to other chemotherapeutic agents. The mechanism of action is not yet known, but it may be due to inhibition of thymidylate synthase and DNA synthesis. 2'-Deoxy-5-trifluoromethyluridine-5'-monophosphate is a potential drug for use in the treatment of cancer. Clinical trials have shown that it can promote tumor regression in patients with advanced solid tumors.
