It inhibits the activity of various enzymes, including angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE), endopeptidase, and proteinases. Z-Pro-prolinal has shown to have antihypertensive effects in rats with primary pulmonary hypertension. It has also been shown to inhibit the proteolytic activities of soybean trypsin and other enzymes.
