It is a white solid with a melting point of 103°C and can be easily synthesized by reacting 1-acetyl-2-phenylhydrazine with methyl isocyanate. This compound has been used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, such as antihypertensives, antihistamines, antipsychotics, and antidepressants. APC also has applications in the synthesis of polyurethanes and other compounds.
