Laurus nobilis is a tree that is native to the Mediterranean region, and has been used for centuries as a natural remedy. This compound binds to the ribosomes of bacteria and inhibits protein synthesis. 2,4DC also has anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
