Descripción

YM 90709 is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the receptor for the cytokine GM-CSF and blocks the binding of this cytokine, thereby inhibiting eosinophil function. YM 90709 has been shown to inhibit colony-stimulating factor (CSF) production, which is required for neutrophil and monocyte transformation and for lymphocyte activation. This agent also inhibits eosinophilic responses in functional assays by blocking IL-5 and IL-3 binding to their receptors on eosinophils. YM 90709 has been shown to be effective in advanced clinical trials.
