Descripción:5-(3-Hydroxypropyn-1-yl)uridine is a modified nucleoside that can be used as an antiviral or anticancer drug. It is an activator of the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase, which converts ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides. 5-(3-Hydroxypropyn-1-yl)uridine has been shown to inhibit the growth of various cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. This drug has also been shown to have antiviral activity against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1).
