• Descripción: 8-Iodoadenosine is a macrocyclic inhibitor that binds to the phosphate group on ATP. This binding prevents ATP from being hydrolyzed to ADP and inorganic phosphate, which inhibits the formation of ATP. 8-Iodoadenosine has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of some cancer cells by interfering with their ability to synthesize proteins. It has also been shown to be an effective treatment for parasitic infections caused by Entamoeba histolytica. 8-Iodoadenosine has also been shown to inhibit protein synthesis in bacteria, fungi, and parasites.
