Descripción:NS-9283 is a monoclonal antibody that targets the human protein called SPARC. NS-9283 is being developed as a diagnostic and prognostic marker for squamous cell carcinoma of the lung, which is currently diagnosed by a chemiluminescence method. It has been shown to be a potential biomarker for cardiac muscle and diabetic neuropathy. NS-9283 binds to SPARC and inhibits its function, leading to cell death. The antibody has also been shown to bind with high affinity to the surface of cancer cells in culture, which may be due to its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier. This binding leads to the activation of complement and cell lysis.
