It has been shown to activate ion channels and inhibit protein interactions. It has also been shown to be a potent inhibitor of voltage-gated potassium channels in rat dorsal root ganglion neurons. This peptide is used as a research tool for studying ion channel function at the molecular level and as an antibody for identifying specific proteins in cells.
