This compound has been shown to be active against herpes simplex virus type 1 and cytomegalovirus in cell culture. It also inhibits the replication of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 in cell culture. 2’-O,4’-C-Methyleneadenosine 5’-monophosphate triethyl ammonium salt is a phosphoramidite nucleoside analog that can be used as an activator for DNA synthesis. It can also serve as a building block for the synthesis of deoxyribonucleosides and ribonucleosides.
