Descripción:2′-O-2-Methoxy-2-oxoethyl-5-methylcytidine (2′OMeC) is a synthetic ribonucleoside that is used in DNA synthesis. 2′OMeC is a nucleotide analog that inhibits DNA and RNA synthesis by competitively inhibiting the enzyme activity of DNA polymerase, RNA polymerase, and other enzymes involved in the process. This drug has been shown to inhibit the replication of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) and hepatitis C virus (HCV).
