2′-O-2-Methoxy-2-oxoethyl-5-methylcytidine (2′OMeC) is a synthetic ribonucleoside that is used in DNA synthesis. 2′OMeC is a nucleotide analog that inhibits DNA and RNA synthesis by competitively inhibiting the enzyme activity of DNA polymerase, RNA polymerase, and other enzymes involved in the process.
