It is synthesized from 2’,3’,5’triphosphate and 2’C-methyl-5-methoxyuridine. This compound is used to treat leukemia and other cancers by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA. Inhibiting DNA synthesis prevents the reproduction of cancer cells. The chemical structure of this compound was first published in 2007.
