It has been shown that 4-hydroxy estrone 1-N3-adenine interacts with cancer cells and inhibits their growth by activating apoptosis and inhibiting angiogenesis. 4HEE1NA is also present in urine samples from humans, suggesting that this molecule may be used as a biomarker for estrogen levels in humans.
