Descripción:FIT-039 is a drug that inhibits the sodium taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide (NTCP) in human cells. It prevents the absorption of bile salts from the gut, which leads to an increase in the concentration of bile acids and cholesterol in the blood. FIT-039 has been shown to have anti-cancer properties, as well as inhibitory effects on viruses such as hepatitis C virus, papilloma virus, and herpes simplex virus. This drug also has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on cervical cancer cells with curcumin analogs. FIT-039 is not active against other types of cancer cells including lung cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, or colorectal cancer.
