Epimedin C is a natural compound that belongs to the group of pentobarbital sodium and is an experimental drug for cancer treatment. It has been shown to be selective for certain cell types, such as erythrocytes, without affecting other cells in the body. Epimedin C has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by binding to DNA and inhibiting DNA synthesis. Epimedin C has also been shown to have antioxidant properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation and scavenge free radicals.
