Eugenol rutinoside is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of phenylpropanoid glycosides. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects in vitro and in vivo. Eugenol rutinoside also inhibits Cox-2, an enzyme that is responsible for the production of inflammatory prostaglandins. This compound is effective against bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics such as methicillin, ampicillin, cephalotin, sulfonamides, tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, and erythromycin.
