Descripción:Savoxepin is a peptide that is used as a research tool in the study of ion channels and receptor protein interactions. It has been used to identify the binding site on the acetylcholine receptor, which is located on the alpha subunit. Savoxepin binds to this region, blocking ligand binding and preventing activation of the receptor. This drug also inhibits voltage-gated potassium channels, which are required for neuronal transmission. Savoxepin is not active against other types of ion channels, such as sodium or calcium channels.
