Ytterbium(III) acetylacetonate is a non-polar, particle, nature compound that has been synthesized by reacting the metal ytterbium with an organic solvent. The purity of this compound can be determined through the use of single-crystal x-ray diffraction and polyols. Ytterbium acetylacetonate has a molecular formula of Yb(OCHCCH)3 and has a crystallography of monoclinic. It also exhibits fluorescence properties at room temperature.
