Información del producto
N-Benzyl-4-nitroaniline (NBNAA) is an activated particle that is used in microscopy. NBNAA stains amines and acetonitrile, and can be thermally activated to produce its active form. The trimethyl group in the molecule stabilizes the nitrogen atom, which allows it to react with electron-rich molecules such as halides. This reaction produces a nitrosoamine intermediate, which reacts with hydrogen to produce a nitrosoamine radical. The nitrosoamine radical then reacts with electron-poor molecules to produce a nitrosamine product. This process occurs in mitochondria, where electron-poor molecules are abundant. The functional groups on NBNAA include an amine, an acetonitrile group, and a trimethyl group. These functional groups allow for the electron transfer required for the intramolecular hydrogen abstraction mechanism of activation.
