It has been shown to inhibit the activity of ion channels and may be useful in pharmacology. 2-(4-Bromophenyl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-perimidine binds to an antibody and causes it to bind to a receptor on the cell surface. This ligand is able to activate the receptor by binding to it and triggering a signal transduction pathway inside the cell. 2-(4-Bromophenyl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-perimidine is also able to inhibit protein interactions with peptides.
