It is an anticancer drug that inhibits DNA synthesis and can be used to treat cancer. The 2'-deoxy-N6-DMF moiety has been shown to inhibit the activity of DNA polymerase and other enzymes involved in DNA replication. This compound also has a novel mechanism of action that is not present in any other known anticancer drugs.
