Descripción:Tropisetron is a specific 5-HT3 receptor antagonist that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of carcinoid syndrome. Tropisetron also has antiemetic properties, which makes it suitable for use in chemotherapy and bowel disease. Tropisetron is used in a number of drug development programs as an analytical method for determining the binding affinity of ligands to α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. It can also be used to determine the concentration of 5-HT by polymerase chain reaction.
