Información del producto
- Benzaldehyde, 2-(1H-imidazol-2-yl)-
2-(1H-Imidazol-2-yl)benzaldehyde is an antibacterial and anti-cancer agent that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to DNA. It has been shown to have a strong selective toxicity against bone cancer cells in vitro, with no effects on normal human osteoblasts. 2-(1H-Imidazol-2-yl)benzaldehyde has also been shown to be effective against staphylococcus aureus, which is resistant to many other antibiotics. The drug inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA. This binding prevents the formation of an antibiotic-inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis that is required for cell wall biosynthesis, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division. 2-(1H-Imidazol-2-yl)benzaldehyde also shows anti-cancer properties, due to its
