Descripción

Calyxin B is a chalcone that has been shown to have significant antiproliferative activity against fibrosarcoma cells. It was found to be active in vitro, and the structure-activity relationship of calyxin B was analyzed. Calyxin B inhibits the proliferation of tumor cells by binding to their DNA, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. This compound also displays hepatoprotective effects, as it inhibits hepatic injury caused by acetaminophen in mice. Calyxin B may also possess anti-inflammatory properties, as it has been shown to inhibit TNF-α production in human monocytes and synopses. The chemical analyses revealed that calyxin B contains a hydroxyl group at C9 and an etoh extract enhances its inhibitory potency against cancer cells.
