NK-252 is a pyrazole compound that inhibits the response pathway of hypertrophy in cardiac muscle. It is an analog of amide and heterocycle compounds. NK-252 induces apoptosis in cells by binding to intracellular signal transduction molecules and by interfering with the synthesis of fatty acids. This drug has shown antitumor activity in animal studies and has been used as a model for cardiac hypertrophy.
