NPY is a potent inhibitor of the ion channel TRPM2. This protein has been shown to be involved in a variety of physiological functions, including regulation of body weight and food intake, sleep-wake cycles, and pain perception. It is also an important regulator of neuronal excitability. NPY (Human) can be used as a research tool for studying protein interactions or investigating the function of ion channels in cellular systems. NPY (Rat) can be used as an antibody for immunohistochemistry or Western blotting experiments.
