This protein is a member of the GRB2/SOS1 protein family and contains a SH3 domain. It has been reported to interact with Sos1 and Grb2, and to act as an activator for Ras-dependent signaling pathways. SH3GLB2 has been shown to be involved in the regulation of ion channels, such as calcium-activated potassium channels, and ligand-gated ion channels such as NMDA receptors. Antibodies against this protein are used as research tools for cell biology or immunoassays.SH3GLB2 has also been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting their ability to proliferate and migrate.
