Descripción

Vasopressin is a peptide hormone that is synthesized from the amino acid arginine and stored in vesicles. It is released into the bloodstream by the hypothalamus, where it acts as an antidiuretic and also stimulates vasoconstriction and contraction of smooth muscle. Vasopressin has been shown to inhibit the binding of ligands to their receptors, which may be due to its ability to activate these receptors.
