2,2'-Methylenebis(6-bromo-4-chlorophenol) is an antibacterial agent that belongs to the group of biocides. It has been shown to be effective against many bacterial species and is used in pharmaceutical preparations. 2,2'-Methylenebis(6-bromo-4-chlorophenol) is active against Gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes, but not against Gram negative bacteria like Enterobacteriaceae. This compound has antioxidant properties and can be used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases and autoimmune diseases.
