Descripción:PD 0220245 is a synthetic, steroidal contraceptive that binds to the progesterone receptor and inhibits ovulation. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting the production of leukotrienes and lipoxygenase. PD 0220245 has been shown to be effective in treating endometriosis and autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. This drug is metabolized by hydrolysis, oxidation, or reduction in the liver, leading to its active form caproic acid. The active form of PD 0220245 has been shown to have synergistic effects when combined with mifepristone. In addition, it has been shown to inhibit the activity of Mcl-1 protein in leukemia cells, which may lead to cancer cell death.
