Descripción:Bromamphenicol is an analog of chloramphenicol and is an inhibitor of protein synthesis. It has potent antibacterial activity against a wide range of bacteria, including those that are resistant to other antibiotics. Bromamphenicol has been shown to inhibit the activity of human kinases and may have potential as an anticancer agent. Studies have also demonstrated its ability to induce apoptosis in cancer cells and inhibit tumor growth in mice. Additionally, it has been found to be an effective inhibitor of elastase, which is involved in tissue damage and inflammation. Bromamphenicol is excreted primarily in urine and has been used as a marker for renal function.
