1-[4-(3-Bromopropoxy)-2-hydroxy-3-propylphenyl]ethanone (1) is a novel dialkylaminoalkyl compound that has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of leukemia cells. It also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines and the activation of human monocytes by inhibiting NF-κB. 1 has shown efficacy in animal models of autoimmune diseases, such as collagen-induced arthritis and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis, and is currently being evaluated for use in clinical trials for psoriasis.
