Descripción:2-Isopentylpyrazine is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C5H10N2. It is an odorant that has been identified in various types of food, such as chocolate, coffee, and peanut butter. 2-Isopentylpyrazine is also present in tobacco smoke and has been used to prepare insulin resistance samples for chromatographic science. This chemical binds to receptors in the olfactory epithelium and muscle cells. 2-Isopentylpyrazine can also be used as a ligand or odorant binding agent in electrophotography. It reacts with a carbon source to form 2-isopentyl-1,3-butadiene, which is used as a monomer for producing synthetic rubber.
