Descripción:2-Thiazolemethanol, ±-methyl- (7CI,9CI) is a catalytic agent that is used for the manufacture of enantiomerically pure (+)-2-thiazolemethanol. It is also used as a photoactive chemical in the production of cotton and has been shown to be an effective catalyst for a number of reactions. This chiral compound has been used in penicillin synthesis and was shown to be biologically active against erythromycin resistant strains of Penicillium notatum.
