Avermectin a1a is an analog of the antiparasitic drug ivermectin, which has been shown to have anticancer properties. It induces apoptosis in cancer cells and has been tested on various types of tumors, including those found in the urine and Chinese hamster ovary cells. Avermectin a1a has also been shown to inhibit kinase activity, particularly protein kinases such as CDK2 and GSK-3β.
