3-Amino-1-(thiophen-2-yl)propan-1-ol is a form of 3 amino propanol that has the chemical formula CH3CH2CH2N(CH3)S. It is an optical isomer of 1-(thiophen-2-yl)propan-1-ol and can be used as a pharmaceutical preparation in formulae with other drugs. 3 amino propanol can be prepared by reacting propionamide with ammonia, aralkyl amides, or amido groups. This reaction yields a mixture of the two optical isomers in a ratio of 1:5 to 5:1. The substance is also known as 6-alkyl, optically active, pharmaceutical preparations and formulae (6AOPPF).
