Descripción:(R)-BPO-27 is a membrane permeabilization agent that belongs to the class of enantiomers. It is an enantiomer of butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), which is a chemical compound used as a food preservative, antioxidant, and stabilizer. The intestinal epithelium cells are the most sensitive target for (R)-BPO-27 with a concentration of 10 μM in vitro. The precise mechanism by which (R)-BPO-27 induces membrane permeabilization is not yet known, but it may be related to inhibition of chloride channels and tyrosine kinase activity in the cell membrane. This drug has been shown to inhibit colon cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo models.
