It has been shown that the neutral form of this compound has a low overpotential and is suitable for use as an electrode in fluorescence measurements. This compound has also been used as a fluorescent probe for amides and fatty acids. Structural analysis and molecular modeling have shown that 1-(Cyclobutylmethyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylic acid can be used as a test compound for cell culture.
