Descripción:Rh2(S-tcptad)4 is a stereoselective, transition metal complex that contains two Rh atoms. It is synthetically produced as an epoxide, carbonyl, or aldehyde. The compound can be formed from the interaction of vinyldiazoacetates and diazo compounds. The carbonyl group of Rh2(S-tcptad)4 binds to carbon dioxide in the presence of an acid catalyst to form cyclopropanes. The electron-deficient nature of the complex makes it susceptible to nucleophilic attack by carbenes and acrylates, which can lead to cyclopropanations.
